The Cuddle Cone™ Story

At Cuddle Cone™, we believe that it’s all about giving your pet the comfort they need in the time that they need it the most.

Our Shih-tzu, Rocky, had just undergone eye surgery, and the vet recommended that he wear a plastic dog cone for at least 3 weeks. After seeing how miserable Rocky was in his plastic cone, we set out to design a more comfortable version of the traditional Elizabethan collar (or “e-collar”). We knew that the cone would have to be lightweight, but sturdy. It would also need to be durable and easy to attach around a dog’s neck. The cone that we designed covered all of these bases. It consisted of a sturdy water-resistant foam core, fleece lining and a print fabric on the outside, along with collar loops and Velcro for attachment. Best of all, Rocky was in total comfort, even after wearing the cone day and night.

Cuddle Cone Dog Cone Soft Alternative to Cone of Shame

Rocky’s veterinary clinic loved the cone, and asked us to produce some for their other furry patients. After many prototypes and perfecting the design, Cuddle Cone™ was born.

This alternative e-collar is now available for both dogs and cats, and can be used for a variety of issues beyond surgical recovery. Our customers include pets with allergies and itching, and groomers who deal with difficult dogs. Cuddle Cone™ has also been helpful in ways that we never expected. One customer commented, “Our dog barked at every person or animal who walked by, but not anymore. The Cuddle Cone lets us take walks without distractions.” Cuddle Cone™ is an avid dog rescue supporter, and we frequently donate cones for use on rescue dogs with medical issues.

Cuddle Cone™ is now available nationwide, and is expanding internationally. The pet recovery collar is available in a variety of designer prints, and can accommodate pets in sizes small thru large.

Every Cuddle Cone™ is lovingly handmade in San Diego, California.
